For somebody who used to spend at least three to four months a year out of the UK on various fishing related jobs all around the world, the fact that I haven’t flown anywhere since before the pandemic is a bit mad. Remember those days when we used to treat flying around the world as normally as we might jump on a ferry to Ireland? Hell, I must be getting old because I can still remember being able to smoke at the back of a plane, and I have very vivid memories of my four day delayed and then sixty hour journey back home from Vancouver Island when I was out there taking photos for a fishing book and 9/11 happened…………..
If you read this blog post on Monday morning then I will be jumping on a plane to go and check a bit of fishing out. There is no point talking about it until I have gone and actually done it, learnt a bit about it, and worked out how viable it is for somebody like me to go and do it. This is what I call a gamble trip in that I am prepared to spend a bit of money and see what happens. I can’t imagine that I will get any time to put any blog posts up from where I am going, so I have got ahead of myself and set a review to go live on Friday morning. It’s about an interesting new version of an already perfect product that doesn’t cost very much and which I can’t do without. Have a good week everybody and I will see you sometime next week if everything goes to plan. While I am away I am also going to be hoping that with this mild weather the bloody conditions might start behaving and I can get out fishing when I return home to see if we still have any bass mooching around here.
