I asked this question on my Facebook page and I was wondering if any of you here had some good ideas? Does anybody have any good suggestions for a lightweight and waterproof smock which secures around the waist AND which zips down to at least halfway down my front? I would far rather have a smock which I can open up as much as possible down the front if at all possible.
The more I wear this Palm kayaking gear for my fishing, the more I am understanding how well it can work for me in a number of different situations. See a couple of blog posts about this gear here (first impressions) and here (after a bit of time with it). BUT, if I am going to wear this Palm neoprene gear more and more throughout the year, I am going to have to sort out a waterproof smock which secures around my waist for rougher seas and/or when it gets colder.
The problem is that I far prefer wearing waterproof jackets over smocks (I like how a jacket zips all the way down and open if needs be), but the way this Palm gear works I think it calls for a waterproof top which you can tighten up around your waist, and as far as I am aware this needs to be a smock. Any suggestions? I want something which is lightweight and easy to move around in and which has enough room for casting and layering up underneath. Thank you!
