Feeling rather honoured to be at the inaugural Irish Spring Angling Fair at the end of this month, hope to see some of you there

If there is one thing I really enjoy in the world of fishing it’s a good fishing show. When they are done well I think they are a blast. The last one I went to was in Bristol, back before the world came to a halt in early 2020, and then I was driving back from some work in Kerry last October and I got a call from an Irish lad I know to ask me if I was interested in coming along to the brand new fishing show they were setting up. He told me a bit about it, plus when and where it was, and how could I say no? I get to head over to Ireland and talk about fishing and get to meet loads of different anglers - what more could you want if you were me?

So at the end of this month (Sat 30th April and Sun 1st May to be precise) the first Irish Spring Angling Fair will be held at the rather impressive Ardaire Springs trout fishery outside of Waterford on the south coast of Ireland. In their wisdom the organisers have asked me to come along and talk about all things bass fishing and fishing photography and so on, but if we leave my participation out of it there are a whole heap of fishing related people from all the disciplines on hand for the two days. Check out the list of fishing demonstrations by clicking on the “Demonstrations” tab at the top of the Irish Spring Angling Fair website here. Their Facebook page is here as well.

They have asked me along!

There are a number of people I am looking forward to meeting and catching up with, and if you are into bass fishing over in Ireland then there will be a number of anglers/demonstrators you are going to want to talk to you. I love the fact that this new fishing show is based right in the heart of prime bass fishing country as well, and yes, if the weather is half decent I will be out fishing myself after I have finished my work at the show. I don’t know if the organisers chose these dates deliberately, but they are some rather nice tides for the Copper Coast area! I’ve got some gear that needs “testing”! I hope to see some of you there…………..
