I have been getting lots of emails, messages and questions from anglers asking me when all this new bass fishing related Savage Gear gear is going to hit the shops and websites here in the UK and Ireland. If it’s any help, I do know that all the stuff arrived in the Svendsen Sport warehouse in Poland on time the other day, and from there all the orders are processed and the parcels are sent out to the UK etc. I don’t do politics, but I can’t get away from how much Brexit plus of course the pandemic and so on have made the whole “getting stuff to the UK” process so much more difficult. Before Xmas the people I work with at Savage Gear could send me samples I need to see and test and make reports on as easily as you or I could go to the Post Office and send a parcel to somebody here in the UK, but that has all changed and to be honest it’s a bit of a nightmare. Samples now take ages to get to me, a lot of forms have to be correctly filled out otherwise I have to pay various charges this end, and some of the time the parcels don’t even get to me. Anyway, sorry, I digress, and I must stop before I go off on a proper rant, but as regards the new Savage Gear fishing tackle, some of it is starting to arrive in the UK and/or it’s very nearly here………….

So I have got ahead of myself and made some changes to a few of the Fishing Tackle pages on here so that they now reflect the gear that I actually fish with and have been using for a fair while now but obviously could not really talk about. Maybe it’s because I am a Brit and I live in the UK I feel I need to almost apologise for banging on about Savage Gear here on my blog which is of course my blog and I do it on my own time, but what I am not going to apologise for is how much I like and believe in the work I am doing with Savage Gear, and if you run into me out on the rocks or up some quiet estuary, you will find me fishing with exactly the gear I talk about on here. Above all this though is the thrill I continue to get when anglers tell me about the fish they have caught on this gear which didn’t exist until I started working with Savage Gear. As I blogged about a while back, it’s a similar kind of buzz I get from doing my co-guiding work over in Ireland and helping anglers catch a few fish in an awesome part of the world which I do badly want to get back to.

Anyway, so these are the Fishing Tackle pages I have amended and/or added:
I’ve got X to spend on a rod and reel - Updated to reflect a bunch of different lure rods at different prices, and I really hope this page does at least help a few of you out with your decision making.
Lure rods - Savage Gear - a brand new page on this website to reflect the two new SGS5 and SGS8 ranges of bass lure rods which I am so damn proud of.
My go-to bass fishing rods, reels and lines - these are the rods and reels which I use for my day to day bass fishing.
My go-to bass fishing lures - amended to include the new Savage Gear Sandeel V2 and V2 Weedless, plus the Savage Minnow and Savage Minnow weedless.
My go-to surf fishing setup - amended to reflect the fact that the two rods I now turn to for surf fishing are the 9’6’’ 12-46g Savage Gear rods. As much as the more expensive SGS8 9’6’’ 12-46g is easily the best “next step up” lure rod I have fished with and in some respects it’s THE rod we have made which blows me away the most, in fact I do almost prefer the cheaper £150 SGS5 9’6’’ 12-46g in the surf because a smidgen less subtlety to the rod I think works really well in hectic surf conditions when the wind is blowing and the waves are pounding.
Soft plastics - amended to include the new colours in the Gravity Stick range, the new Savage Gear Sandeel V2 and V2 Weedless, plus the Savage Minnow and Savage Minnow weedless.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to those kind people here who choose to follow my affiliate links when buying some of your fishing tackle. The fact that some of you do so means a huge amount, and whilst I would always encourage anglers to support good local tackle shops whenever possible, it isn’t always possible to get hold of a lot of this modern lure fishing tackle in some tackle shops, and there is obviously no getting away from how many of us do in fact do so much of our shopping online. To be perfectly honest I am still amazed that it’s possible for me to make anything back for the time I put into this blog, but I obviously never started blogging for that reason, and I’m going to assume that you realise the comparative size of our fishing tackle market and the fact that early retirement my end hasn’t inched any closer! Anything is more than kind of course, and I mean it sincerely when I say thank you so much if you have bought anything at all through my affiliate links (there will always be a disclaimer so you know there are links in there and you can make your own mind up), and thank you as well to any of you who choose to do in the future. You all have a good weekend and I will see you next week……………
Disclosure - If you buy anything using links found around my website, I may make a commission. It doesn’t cost you anymore to buy via these affiliate links - and please feel entirely free not to do so of course - but it will help me to continue producing content. Thank you.
